May Favourites | Monthly Faves

Okay, so I'm a bit late to the May favourites party but better late than never right? I don't have a huge amount of favourites this month but I have tried a few new products, which I've thoroughly enjoyed and want to share with you guys!

My first favourite for the month of May is the Nars Sheer Glow foundation. I was a bit skeptical of this as I was after a high coverage foundation and wasn't really sure of the coverage of Nars Sheer Glow. I decided to give it a try anyway as I've heard nothing but good things and I can definitely say that I agree with all of those things. I've fallen in love. For me, it is a fairly high coverage foundation which covers pretty much everything. It's such a nice formula and feels so silky smooth on your skin and is if you're not wearing much. The only thing I will say is that I don't think it lasts as long as some other foundations. By the end of the day, it still looks fine but I do notice my skin looking a bit oily. Another new product I've been loving is the Revlon Brow Fantasy. I only really bought this so that I could try a brow gel for the first time so I don't really use the pencil side of it. Now I'm not sure if this product really is great as it's the only gel I've tried but it seems to be working well enough for me!

I've also still really been loving Tarte's Light Camera Lashes mascara, which is perfect for when I just want pretty and wispy lashes that aren't too heavy. During May, I seemed to rekindle my love for MAC blushes, particularly the shade Well Dressed. Well Dressed is perfect for days when you want a simple flush of colour on the cheeks- nothing too much. It's a gorgeous cool toned pink which looks amazing with most make up looks. Lastly, a product that I've had for a while and just never got around to using- the Loreal Color Infaillible eyeshadow in Hourglass Beige. These eyeshadows have such a smooth, buttery formula that last for a very long time. Hourglass Beige is a gorgeous light, shimmery beige colour that is perfect as an all over lid colour for when you're feeling like a bit of shimmer. It's quite similar to Stila's Kitten however is slightly more cool toned.

I don't have many random favourites this month as I haven't seen any new movies and I also haven't been watching much TV other than rewatching The OC. Although I will mention a book, and you can probably guess what it is. The Fault In Our Stars. I finally read this amazing book during May and I absolutely loved it and can't wait to see the movie. Definitely recommend reading it if you're slow like me and haven't! Music wise I've been loving Problem by Ariana Grande, All of the Stars (the live version is better), Don't and Thinking Out Loud, all by Ed Sheeran  and Stay With Me by Sam Smith.

I hope you've enjoyed reading my monthly favourites and stay tuned for a post featuring my month in pictures!

  1. Great favourites! I've also been a bit hesitant to try Sheer Glow as I prefer foundation with a more fuller coverage but I think I've been swayed by your opinion. Might need to swing by Mecca and pick one up for myself! And yes, The Fault In Our Stars! Such a great book and the movie just came out in Australia so I'm so excited to see that as well!

  2. I keep hearing good things about sheer glow and I think I'm going to have to cave and buy it soon. The Fault in Our Stars is one of my favourite books ever, even though it makes me cry like a baby! I'm emotionally preparing myself for the movie...

Thanks for the awesome post (love your picture quality)

  3. I keep seeing the Nars foundation everywhere and I'm so tempted to try it, although it's a little expensive. Ever tried the Estee Lauder Double wear light? I need a comparison of the two aha. Love the blog btw,
